I have never had a coupon turned away until today

Today was a first for me, I had a coupon turned away. Not because it was expired or the wrong item, in fact I had everything to a T. The problem was overage, about $2 worth per coupon and I had 4 coupons. To me this was great, I kept thinking $8 overage, this will be awesome! Nope… nope it was not.

Target turned my coupon away, which was odd because I have used countless coupons there with overage many times and never once had an issue. I understand rules and managment decisions, and that’s what this was. It was a manager’s discression and she didn’t like the $2 overage. Instead of just adjusting the price like  most store would have done… she completely turned my coupons away.

So instead of spending $11 with a $5 Target gift card back I had to spend $19 and get a $5 Gift Card. I am not complaining… Target has been a great place to shop. But I also feel that each store should have a set policy, firm, for every transaction and follow it. So I will not go in there and feel like a fool who is trying to rip them off when they turn my coupons away.

Having your “office” in the same room as the litter box is not a good combination… that’s all I am going to say on that.

How to make sweet tea

This Post May Contain Affiliate Links : Disclosure Policy

This may seem like the silliest post in the world to some Southerners but I have realized that people in the north know nothing about good ol’ fashioned Southern Sweet Tea! I remember visiting Las Vegas a few years back and asking for sweet tea to drink, the waitress looked at me like I was crazy. It is all my family drinks, we are never out of sweet tea in this house.

 You will need :
4 family size Tea bags
2 to 3 cups of sugar, depending on preference. (we use 3)
1 Gallon pitcher

There are a few different ways to brew the tea bags, in a pot on the stove to a boil, in a tea kettle or in a coffee maker. You bring the water to a boil with the tea bags, let it boil for a moment then turn the stove off and let it sit for a few minutes. If doing it in a coffee maker just fill the water line up and put four tea bags in the filter and let it brew.

Pour the sugar and tea into a gallon pitcher.

Stir the sugar and tea together and add water until the pitcher is full.

Now put some ice in a glass and fill it with the great southern sweet tea. Put the remainder in the fridge to cool.

There is nothing… nothing! better than a nice glass of sweet tea.

Rabid Racoon encounter

On our way out today we ran across a rabid racoon. First we thought it was hurt but A) Racoons don’t typically come out during the day and B) it was walking sideways and would stop to roll around and toss stuff. It was honestly acting like it was insane. We were able to stop right next to it and watch it, it didn’t bother to run or anything. Very odd. Called the Animal Control but we lost sight of it so i’m sure that sent animal control on a wild goose chase looking for an insane racoon in the country.

Hectic life right now

So I just started this blog and already I have slowed down on posting. But I have a good excuse! Work is busy and we are getting the living room and hall ready for painting this weekend! I am so excited, I have been dying to paint since we bought 4 months ago and ripped out the fireplace.

This is the color we chose, I hope it looks good throughout the living room and hallway.

And here is hubby giving me the evil eye while he’s working and I snap pictures (when I should be working)

So after this weekend I should be back on keeping up with all the good freebies and deals out there! And I can’t way to take shots of how it all turns out (I hope it turns out good). If anyone wants to come lend a hand we’re open to helpers! haha

Alice in Wonderland review

Hubby and I both enjoyed Alice in Wonderland, it was a bit different than what I was expecting. It does not follow the actual Alice in Wonderland story line like you’d think, it goes a slightly different route but still very enjoyable.

In my opinion, it’s not a kids movie. It is directed more towards an older teen and adult audience. There is no cussing or anything of that sort, it is just honestly a weird movie and not all comical or cute for kids.

All in all we enjoyed it, we both love Tim Burton films so this fit for us. But I wouldn’t say bring your 5 year old to it.
