Alphabet Photography provided a lovely framed piece of work for the Ultimate Bath Re-Do!

Alphabet Photography has a very unique way of creating wonderful pieces of work with spectacular images.  Alphabet Photography is the process of taking photos of everyday objects that resemble letters of the alphabet, then arranging the pictures together to create your very own personalized letter photo art.

My Review :

For the bathroom re-do we of course wanted something that would fit the theme but still look classy and give the room a nice touch. Thanks to the lovely people at Alphabet Photography they came up with a nice idea.. FLUSH. I know it sounds weird, but any word looks good in this style!

When I received it I was in awe, I honestly didn’t think it would look this good. I even asked hubby if he could read the wording really well (I was trying to put it in our living room it looked so good!) but I think the word FLUSH on my living room wall would look odd, haha. The frame is gorgeous, the photography letters are amazing and give it a great artistic feel. The custom wording frames come with a nice glass front on them. I am in love with this frame and I think it works perfectly with the bathroom, it really sets off everything around it and it’s a great way to express your own style and still come out with something very unique!

CSN Stores provided some love accessories for the Ultimate Bath Re-Do event!

Within’ their 200+ stores they carry great items such as some beautiful console tables. Now our coffee table has seen better days itself, in fact all my living room furniture has. Our coffee table is a bulky goodwill table with scratches all over it from my lovely cat, and our one side table is an old oak one we got from a friend’s garage sale. So needless to say my furniture is.. interesting!

For the review I chose  a lovely Moen 5′ curved shower rod from their Bath accessory section.

The instillation for the shower rod was actually extremely easy! I was warned about curved rods before, being told that tend to slide down and won’t stay up. That wasn’t the case with this one at all. In fact to ensure it doesn’t slide down or move you actually screw the ends into the wall and hook the rod into them. There’s no worry of it sliding down and the curve gives much more room in the shower than I actually imagined it would. I absolutely love it and it is ten times better than my old spring rod that was starting to look a bit worn and scraggly.

Glidden Paint was lovely enough to provide the paint for the Bath Re-do Event for our master bath!

I am going to be honest, I have never used Glidden Paint in my life so I was excited to give them a try! We’ve only painted once since we bought our home and it was… an adventure, to say the least. Now that we’re moving on to re-do our master bath it was the perfect opportunity to try them out for myself. Sometimes you may think that the price of paint shows the quality but that’s not always the case! Of course being my frugal self I tend to go for the more budget friendly items and Glidden is no exception at the typical price of $21.00 or so a gallon, that’s half of what I spent for the other paint we used in our living room!

It was a real head scratcher trying to pick out the perfect color for the paint, since we decided to just pick a fun and different color than our usual browns and neutrals this was basically a free for all for us, haha. I literally went from red to orange to purples and couldn’t decide, each one was different than what I would normally pick and it was hard to decide. Finally I just gave up, picked a color out of the grey/blue section and went with it… French Grey, which is actually a really pretty color! Something I know I can combine with plenty of different styles when I change my mind on the decor.

If you check out the Glidden Site you can see all their fantastic colors and even find what other coordinating colors go with them! So if you’re like and color challenged, they can help. They even have an interior and exterior paint calculator so you can see just how much you need so you don’t overspend (which I tend to do with paint for whatever reason).

For our color sheen we chose satin, I like a flatter look but still with a small sheen to it to bring it out a bit more, but I don’t like it so shiny that light reflects off of it. We only estimated one gallon for our bath, it’s a small room and knew 1 gallon would be plenty with some to spare! You know.. for those times you get a hole in the wall, screw/nail something in to only change your mind later and be left with a big gaping hole.

So the big question for us was… will this take one coat or two? That’s a big deal with paint! I don’t want to spend hours painting when I could spend half the time and do one coat. Painting is no fun! Not something I want to do all day long, haha. So we gave it a shot, mixed the paint (it looked great in the can but how would it look on the walls?) Well so far so good! I was surprised how fantastic it looked, even better than the little paint swatch we got from the store.

After I was relieved by how great the paint looked we continued on, before we knew it the bathroom was almost done and looking fantastic.  And guess what? It only took one good solid coat to get it! Yeah there were little touch up spots, mainly from our light brush strokes, but all in all it went on in a good coat and looks great. It was easy to apply and we even have some left for touch ups later on down the road.

I was extremely satisfied with the Glidden paint and even happier with the price! I paid half the price of the more expensive brands and received the great same coverage.
